How I got 70 marks in just 1 week of study and that was too not regular or planned.
First, I congratulate all those who have passed the exam and we stand with those who were not so lucky to pass the Law GAT.
There are some tricks and tips which can be very fruitful in HEC Law GAT test preparation if followed properly.
- Get past papers, at least 10 to 15 questions repeats every time. Though the bare acts help, I am not in favor of them as they are quite long and tricky.
- You may read any good guide or you can just study on the internet (as I did the study on the internet although I had a law gat book I did not study it properly).
- Properly consult famous sections and articles of the acts and laws and ordinances, remember their uses and application.
- For the USA, UK, and Pakistan constitutions, just google the main articles.
- Download famous Latin and English legal terms and remember their meanings.
- International law MCQs can be studied through CSS past papers of Intl Law (as I studied during my preparation of CSS exams).
In exams do remember these techniques
- If the answers include "All of them" or "both A n B" 90 % chances are that this is the answer.
- "None of the above" in most cases is the right option.
- Most answers fall in B or C options, So if you do not know the answer just tick B or C option. Options A n D is usually less advised.
- Learn the method of elimination by smart reasoning and intelligent guessing.
- Complete the questions in any case.
- Do read Dawn Newspaper as it will keep u updated with the latest constitutional situation of the major countries.
Here I provide some tricks and techniques to tackle the HEC law GAT confidently.
Law GAT Test Preparation 11 Tips by Summiya Kalwar Advocate
Firstly
1. Buy a good Law GAT book.
2. In that guidebook, you are provided with each subject divided into different sections. Take a bare act of respective subject, but take only one bare act each time, otherwise, your ideas will be mixed and it makes you confused.
3. Do not read all the bare acts before going through that GAT guidebook.
4. There are three main categories of MCQs.
(a) Satisfactory: you are 100% sure about that choice.
(b) Confusing: 50 % sure about your choice.
(c) Unsatisfactory: you do not have any idea about your choice.
5. After buying a book your second step is to solve MCQs on your own first before looking into bare acts, to analyze yourself that which answer can be satisfactory.
6. Remember, use a pencil to do this practice, so as you can erase, in case of choice founds wrong.
7. Tick all the MCQs on your own and before looking into keys provided in that guidebook, now open
that bare act of concerned subject (MCQ'S section) and confirm your answer ( most of the time the keys are misprinted).
8. In the Confusing category of MCQs or the Unsatisfactory ones, try to tick (B) or (C) choices, or if there is provided an option like None of above and all of above and B and C or any two choices combine, got for it, it is more like to be a Satisfactory choice.
9. Try to use maxims in sentences to remember them quickly.
10. Go through International law on the CSS point webpage.
11. Remember the advocacy rules.
Dear brothers and sisters try to give your best in those subjects, which are 20% marks, like civil and criminal major subjects. International law, advocacy rules, constitutional laws must be your second priority. Civil and criminal laws must be your first priority as they contain most of the parts of marks comparatively.
Secondly
Time management is key to success, if you spend most of your time understanding each subject in a reasonable time then there is nothing to stress about. It is quite fun to follow this method because this method will make you curious to find out which is the best answer and believe me when you confirm your wrong answers, you will never forget that again. Give your best effort in a manner supra.
I hope you may all succeed in your first attempt.
